St George District Branch of the Australian Red Cross

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I rise to recognise the St George District Branch of the Australian Red Cross in its charitable work within my community. As I have often said, I am very grateful to represent a community that has so many incredible organisations that work toward ensuring no one is left behind. It's with great pleasure that I acknowledge and congratulate the St George District Branch of the Australian Red Cross for 110 years of humanitarian support within the community. Founded after the outbreak of World War I in 1914, the Australian Red Cross has since played a pivotal role in supporting the community and raising funds for life-changing programs. I'd like to thank the president of the St George District Branch, Meg Lawther, for her continued dedication and leadership, as well as all members and volunteers who have generously contributed their time and efforts to encourage a lively community spirit of service in the St George area. I look forward to working alongside the St George District Branch well into the future and hope to accomplish lots more together.
