David Carreon
Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)
—Speaker, I would like to acknowledge an amazing young talent from our local community, who recently performed at the annual Eisteddfod Showcase and won an Orchestra Instrumental Scholarship. At the age of just 23, former Connell's Point local, David Carreon has already achieved so many great things in the performing arts industry. Whilst David now lives in Boston, Massachusetts, he developed his skills right here in the St George area. The Sydney Eisteddfod Showcase gives individuals like David the chance to showcase their talents, bringing together some of the finest musicians across Australia. Not only was David awarded a scholarship but thanks to his successes over the years, he is also currently studying for a master's degree at the New England Conservatory. It always brings me great joy to inform the House about the extraordinary talent in our local community. David shares his passion for the arts in remarkable ways and truly shows the diverse array of talent within the St George community. His technical accomplishment is nothing short of extraordinary, therefore I would like to congratulate David once again and wish him all of the best in his future endeavours.
