Schools and Political Neutrality

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (11:55:16):

My question is directed to the Minister for Education and Early Learning. Ramsgate Public School students were repeatedly welcomed to school by lyrics including "desire to kill, any white devil wanna test my will" and "They say he's a captain of men, but he believe in our law. From the land of the white skins … a murder without licence." Political indoctrination in schools continues under the Minister's watch. What actions is he personally taking to stop indoctrination in our schools?

Mr Ron Hoenig:

Point of order—

The SPEAKER:

I will hear the point of order. The member for Canterbury will come to order. I need to hear the Leader of the House.

Mr RON HOENIG:

Standing Order 128 (2) does not permit a question that contains argument, inference, or imputation. Mr Speaker, either the member for Oatley rephrases the question in a quick way, or, alternatively, you call the next member.

The SPEAKER:

I uphold the point of order. The question is out of order.

Mr MARK COURE:

Mr Speaker—

The SPEAKER:

The member for Oatley will resume his seat. The member knew his question was out of order in the way that it was structured and delivered. The member will not be given a chance to rephrase it.
