Fifty Years of the Lions Club of Lugarno

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, what an honour and privilege it is to recognise the work of one of the finest community organisations running in our local area – the Lions Club of Lugarno. They are truly one of a kind! As a Member of Parliament, I come across all sorts of community organisations, made up of different people with different goals and ideas. I truly believe that this is the best part of my job. However, I can confidently say that the Lugarno Lions are some of the best around. They have donated millions of dollars over the years to people across our community, including contributing funds towards our community's crowning jewel, St George Hospital. Just over the last ten years, they have organised countless community events, including trivia nights and market days, all while assisting communities in need across New South Wales. I look forward to supporting the Lugarno Lions for the next 10 years, and then for many more years after that. I'd like to thank each and every single member of the Lions - past, present and future.
