Acknowledging Our Local SES Volunteers

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I would like to acknowledge the great work of each and every single State Emergency Service volunteer in the St George community. I know that they do an absolutely incredible job, however they often do not receive the recognition they deserve. Our community has been impacted by storms, floods and other destructive events, especially over the last few years. However, our wonderful SES volunteers have always been there, ready to jump in and assist wherever they can. I know of countless examples where the SES in our community have not only saved properties, but also lives and livelihoods. The Hurstville SES volunteers are the ones to thank – truly the unsung heroes of our local area. WOW Day is coming up on Wednesday 22 May and I would like to encourage everyone in the local community to wear something orange, to show your support and appreciation for our local SES volunteers. I would like to thank the entire team of volunteers from the Hurstville SES Unit for the hard work you do. Your contribution to our community is invaluable and I wish you all the best.
