Connells Point Progress Association

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (19:44):

:19 I congratulate the Connells Point Progress Association on the work it continues to do for our local community. The association aims to represent and give a voice to residents of the Connells Point area. Its work is invaluable, as it ensures that people like me understand exactly what matters to the people we represent. Throughout my nine years as a member of Parliament and many years as a local city councillor I have had a strong relationship with the association and have worked with it to secure some great outcomes.

Currently we are corresponding with Georges River Council and multiple ministerial offices to tackle issues like recent electricity blackouts, unmaintained local parks and stray cats damaging property. While this work is important, the Connells Point Progress Association is not just about issues; it is about people. The association gives residents a chance to connect and stay in touch with monthly meetings. I have had the pleasure of becoming great friends with President Stephen Bible and many other members of the association. On behalf of my electorate and all members of this House—a packed House—I thank the Connells Point Progress Association.
