Tribute to Warwick Cary, ESM

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (19:31):

:52 I inform the House of the unfortunate passing of local St George volunteer hero Mr Warwick Cary, ESM. Mr Cary served as a New South Wales State Emergency Service volunteer for the past 27 years. He was an exemplar model citizen. Mr Cary joined the NSW State Emergency Service in 1982. During his time with the SES he served as the Kogarah Local Controller. He was also an instrumental founding member of the NSW SES Volunteers Association in 1999. Mr Carey's dedication and passion for volunteering saw him achieve many prestigious awards for his service, including the Centenary Medal, the NSW SES Director General's Commendation for Service Award, the Life Member Award, the Emergency Services Medal, and many more. Additionally, in 2011 Mr Cary was awarded the City of Kogarah's Citizen of the Year award and in 2016 the Cook Community Medal, both of which he most certainly deserved. Mr Cary will be deeply missed within the local area. I send my deepest condolences to his wife and children. May he rest in peace.
