Oatley Flora & Fauna Conservation Society

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—I acknowledge the Oatley Flora & Fauna Conservation Society, and the important work they do for the environment in our local community. The Society was formed in 1955 by a group of local residents who were concerned about the vandalism of flora and fauna in Oatley Park. Since their establishment, the Society's focus has expanded to Australian flora and fauna in general, promoting the need to conserve the natural environment. The Society has been active in the local area, participating in initiatives such as Clean Up Australia Day, where they assisted in collecting waste from Poulton Park in South Hurstville. The Society have also been valuable in working collaboratively with other community groups, which can be seen in their efforts in cleaning up Georges River. I would like to thank President Graham Lalchere and the entire Society for their time and effort in protecting our beautiful flora and fauna and ensuring the preservation of the environment for future generations.
