Harold Fraser Oval Pavilion

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (19:43):

:17 Recently I attended the official opening of the Harold Fraser Oval Pavilion, located at Harold Fraser Oval in Kogarah Bay. The new $2.4 million clubhouse and amenities were jointly funded by the New South Wales Government and Georges River Council in the member for Rockdale's electorate.

Mr Stephen Kamper:

That's right. What were you doing there?

Mr MARK COURE:

Where were you? A portion of the funds came from the Stronger Communities Fund. The clubhouse and amenities feature change rooms, accessible public toilets, a referees' room, canteen, medical room, store room and a lift to access the upstairs function area. The Harold Fraser Oval is used by district cricket and local football teams. The new pavilion will make it an exceptional place to play and watch sport. Hopefully, the new pavilion, as well as the earlier resurfacing of the ground, new cricket pitch and new irrigation and drainage will allow the ground to be used more regularly and encourage more people to get involved in local sport, particularly football and cricket. I thank Georges River Council for its invitation to the official opening. In particular, I thank my predecessor Mayor Kevin Greene for his continued commitment to our local area.
