Australia Bangladesh Sports and Cricket Association

—Speaker, I recently had the pleasure of attending the Australia Bangladesh Sports and Cricket Association's Trophy Ceremony on the 15th of December, 2019. The Association has been active in promoting sport, as well as Bangladeshi culture and heritage, to the Bangladeshi community for over 25 years. 2019 marked the Silver Jubilee Edition of the Association's annual BD Gold Cup, which is a highly anticipated event in the community. In 2019, 12 teams participated in the Cup. It was great to attend the trophy ceremony and congratulate the victorious Randwick Raiders, who won 8 of their 9 matches throughout the year. I would particularly like to acknowledge the Man of the Match, awarded to Adnan Kabir of the Randwick Raiders. I would like to congratulate the Association on another very successful year, and for their continued work in engaging the Bangladeshi community through sport. I acknowledge Chairman Mohammad Alam, who has been a strong advocate for the Bangladeshi community in my local area. Thank you once again to the Association for having me attend the Ceremony. I wish you all the best for the upcoming year.
