Australian Chinese Buddhist Society's 38th Anniversary of the Mingyue Lay Temple

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, today I rise to acknowledge the Australian Chinese Buddhist Society's Celebration of the 38th Anniversary of the Mingyue Lay Temple. The Society has played an important role in strengthening multiculturalism in the community and providing a location for those who adhere to Buddhism to deepen their spiritually. The Mingyue Lay Temple is a very significant location for those living in Western Sydney, and has become a prominent prayer location since its inception 38 years ago. It was great to attend the Anniversary Celebration, where both distinguished visitors and community members came together to acknowledge the work of the Society. I thank the Chairman of the Society, Mr James Chan, and the President of the Society, Mr Vincent Kong, for their work in the Society and for extending the Celebration invitation to me. I look forward to continuing support the fantastic work of the Society in the coming years.
