Sing Australia

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (13:42:58):

I acknowledge a fantastic group in my electorate called Sing Australia St George. In April, I had the pleasure of attending Sing Australia's regional gathering at Peakhurst South Public School, which was part of a national Sing Australia celebration. The St George branch was joined by fellow Sing Australia groups including Ashbury, Collaroy, Plateau and Gordon. The day of celebration saw 105 Sing Australia groups meet across 32 regional gatherings to showcase the very significant achievements of Sing Australia, and to highlight the benefits of making singing an inclusive and non-judgmental activity. Sing Australia emphasises the need for inclusive singing as a way of connecting people in our communities. Sing Australia's 20 years of experience has made singing an accessible form of connecting thousands of potentially lonely people. I am proud to say that each year the St George branch has opened my annual St George Community Awards, which is a definite highlight of each award ceremony. I thank Sing Australia for their continued efforts in bringing joy to countless groups across my electorate.
