Oatley Writer's Group

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I rise to recognise and congratulate a wonderful local organisation, the Oatley Writers' Group. They do some incredible work in our community! The Oatley Writers' Group launched in 2014 after a few locals decided to come together, united by the common desire to write. Now, the group has grown in numbers greatly, with over 20 members attending their monthly meetings. The group welcomes people of all ages and levels of skill - both new and experienced writers. They also publish yearly anthologies based upon an agreed theme, which I must say, are always a good read! Community-run organisations like the Oatley Writers' Group are so important, as they provide a space for individuals to come together over shared passions, allowing artists to refine their craft and gain confidence in their abilities. I would like to thank all members of the Oatley Writers' Group, both past and present, for contributing their time and efforts towards making our community a better place. I wish them every success in 2024 and look forward to reading this year's anthology!
