Hurstville Grove Infants School – Playground Opening

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I recently had the opportunity to attend the official opening of a brand-new playground and yarning circle at Hurstville Grove Infants School. It was wonderful to see all the student's faces as they eagerly awaited their turn to check out the new outdoor space. This project has certainly been many years in the making! Uncle Dean conducted a traditional Indigenous smoking ceremony to officially open the space, with the Student Leadership team running the ceremony on the day. I would like to commend them on the fantastic job they did. I would also like to thank Kym Ferrario, relieving Principal of Hurstville Grove Infants School, as well as Kylie McKinnon, for all the effort they have put into getting the new outdoor space up and running. The work of Principal's like Kym, as well as all of our hardworking teachers, ensures that New South Wales is at the forefront of education, not only in Australia but across the globe. Your commitment to the school is phenomenal, and you should all be very proud of yourselves.
