Kevin Greene AM

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I rise to recognise Kevin Greene AM, who was recently appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the Parliament of NSW, local government and the community. Kevin has been a lifelong local and a friend to our community, having resided in the area for over 55 years now. Throughout this time, he played an enormous role in making our local area the great place it is today. His service in Parliament was extensive – throughout 1999 – 2011 he represented the Electorate's of Georges River and subsequently Oatley, whilst also holding several Ministerial portfolios. More recently, I had the pleasure of working with him as Mayor of George's River Council and our combined advocacy led to many jointly funded projects including the significant revitalisation and upgrade of Gannon's Park. Kevin has also been a strong advocate for many local organisations including the St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation, Red Shield Appeal, The Salvation Army, and Charity Golf Committee. I'd like to again thank Kevin for his significant contributions to our community and congratulate him on his recent appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia.
