Macedonian School Council of NSW - Award Presentation Ceremony

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—I rise to thank the Macedonian School Council of New South Wales, who recently hosted me at their Award Presentation Ceremony. The awards ceremony was held in honour of the founders of the Macedonian alphabet, St Kiril and St Metodij. Language schools throughout our State strive incredibly hard to preserve language, heritage, and values. The Macedonian School Council plays an important part in connecting the Macedonian community to their cultural roots. As Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism, I believe in the importance of teaching our younger generations how to live, work and thrive in diverse societies. We are fortunate that New South Wales is a place where those from different backgrounds can grow together in harmony and understanding. I'd like to thank President Zakalina Mihajlova, as well as the rest of the hardworking executive team at the Macedonian School Council of New South Wales. The work you do for the Macedonian Community is second to none, and you should be incredibly proud. I look forward to working closely with the Macedonian community over the next few years.
