Jesaiah Creek

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—I rise to acknowledge and congratulate Jesaiah Creek, a year-10 student at St George Christian School who recently won Apple's Swift Student Challenge for his achievements in coding. Whilst only 15 years of age, Jesaiah single-handedly developed the 'PocketSax' App, giving users a chance to play the Saxophone without having to first purchase one – something that many people cannot afford to do. Jesaiah also designed noise control functionality into PocketSax. This means that the App supports those with a disability or hearing impairment, allowing them to get involved. As a part of his prize, Jesaiah received a year-long subscription to Apple's highly prestigious Developer Program, which will further develop his skills as a keen young coder. He has since launched a lunch time group to help other students with their coding journeys. STEM programs continue to form a vital part of the New South Wales economy, and I could not be prouder of the work that students like Jesaiah are doing across the State. Congratulations Jesaiah! I look forward to watching you continue to develop your skills in coding over the coming years, and I wish you the best of luck!
