Knit2gether Group

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (17:21:35):

Today I acknowledge the Knit2gether group, a wonderful community group within my electorate that has supported those in need for over 15 years. I recently had the opportunity to pay them a visit and try my hand at knitting! Started by founder Linda Pritchard over 15 years ago, Knit2gether came from humble beginnings, comprising six ladies who would meet to support each other over a cup of tea or coffee and, of course, to knit. It has now grown into a group of up to 40 people, who meet monthly to knit items for those in need. Knit2gether supports those in need by knitting beanies, blankets, scarves and gloves for the disadvantaged, homeless and lonely. I was pleased to be able to donate $500 to the group, which will assist them in buying more wool and sewing equipment. I thank Linda for the wonderful work she does, as well as each and every volunteer for donating their time to help those in need. I am so proud to have a community group of such high calibre within my electorate.
