Mortdale Fire Station Open Day

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—I recently had the privilege of visiting the Mortdale Fire Station for their annual Open Day. This is an event that I have had the pleasure of attending for many years now. The Open Day allows members of the community to get a look behind the curtains, learning what it takes to operate a Fire Station, whilst also zeroing in on the importance of home fire safety. There was plenty on offer for the little ones, with live demonstrations, the chance to see real firefighting equipment, as well as opportunities to sit in the truck. My two boys have thoroughly enjoyed the open day over the years. The Mortdale Firefighters do such an important job within our community. They work tirelessly, day in and day out, to save lives and properties. Many of them played significant roles during the 2019 bushfires in New South Wales. I'd like to thank the Captain of the Mortdale Fire Station, Craig Koschel, as well as the team of the Firefighters for the incredible work they do. I look forward to attending next year's open day.
