Penshurst Anzac Day Dawn Service

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—On ANZAC Day this year, I had the privilege of attending the dawn service in Penshurst, organised by the Oatley, Mortdale, and Penshurst RSL Sub-Branches. It was an honour to stand alongside both retired and enlisted members of the Australian Defence Force to commemorate this incredibly important day in the history of our nation. It was also wonderful to see so many in our community come and attend the dawn service. Not only was this a day to commemorate those brave ANZAC's who passed away in Gallipoli, but also a way to remember all those Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and operations across the world. Many of these service men and women paid the ultimate price by laying down their lives for their fellow countrymen, families and of course, their country. We will always remember their sacrifice and continue to honour their memory through the freedoms we enjoy each day. I would like to thank members of the Oatley, Mortdale and Penshurst RSL Sub-Branches for putting on a truly memorable event and I look forward to attending next year's ceremony.
