GRC 'better Together' Anti-Racism Campaign

——Speaker, I rise today to congratulate Georges River Council on a successful launch of the 'Better Together' Anti-Racism Campaign. I recently attended the launch at the Clive James Library at Kogarah and made a short speech in my capacity as the Minister for Multiculturalism and Seniors. It was excellent to connect with constituents within my local area and discuss this important issue. Anti-racism strategies remain a high priority for both Georges River Council and myself. The Georges River area is incredibly diverse, with many residents coming from China, Nepal, Greece, the Philippines, India and a number of other countries. Multiculturalism truly helps to make our community a better place to live. As a part of the program, Georges River Council introduced the 'Living Libraries' initiative which allows members of the local community to learn about the experiences of others by borrowing a 'human book' to read, which helps to build understanding and empathy. I would like to once again congratulate Georges River Council on a successful launch and wish them all the best with the future endeavours of this program.
