Connect Church Australia

Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, I rise today to recognise the outstanding work that Connect Church Australia is doing in my local community. Last year, I attended an online session and spoke with church members where they highlighted to me their involvement in supporting a variety of local, national and international missionary activities. Speaker, the COVID‑19 pandemic and ensuing lockdown has meant that traditional in-person church services have had to be curtailed. However, through digital means the community's connection with their faith has proven to be incredibly important in supporting people through these challenging times. It is essential that local residents continue to have strong links with local organisations and churches who provide people with a sense of community and togetherness. Speaker, I would like to thank Senior Pastor Phillip Webb and Yang Yang for having me. I would also like to thank all the members of Connect Church who continue to do great things in our community every day.
