Work Underway at Beverly Hills Girls High School

Minister for Education Adrian Piccoli has officially kicked off work at the first school to receive an upgrade under a NSW Government commitment to improve almost 60 NSW public high schools.

Mr Piccoli has turned the first sod on the $4.5 million project at Beverly Hills Girls High School made possible by a $148 million plan to improve high schools across NSW.

“The NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is enhancing the appearance of schools and improving the learning experience for public secondary school students,” Mr Piccoli said.

"We know that a school's appearance is important in how it is perceived by the community. This funding will go a long way to upgrading those schools that need it most.

"The upgrades will improve the schools' amenity, provide outdoor learning and breakout spaces and how schools present to their local community."

The upgrade at Beverly Hills Girls High School is expected to be completed by June next year and will include:

  • The creation of a formal front entrance;
  • New outdoor learning spaces for students; and
  • A major refurbishment of the school administration area.

“The school administration area will be totally refurbished and include new administration spaces, meeting and training rooms and a staff study room adjacent to existing outdoor areas,” Piccoli said.

Member for Oatley Mark Coure is welcoming the improved facilities for the school community.

“The work will feature a new main entrance facing Broadarrow Road including an entrance façade and landscaping. This is great news for students, parents and teachers,” Mr Coure said.
