St George Hospital Reaches New Heights

Stage 3 of the redevelopment of St George Hospital is making great progress!

This $411 million redevelopment will deliver world-class health services to you and your family, ensuring you get the best care when you need it most!

Since 2011, over $740 million has been invested by the Liberals and Nationals to transform St George Hospital into the shining jewel that it is today.

The Stage 3 St George Hospital redevelopment will include:

• Outpatient, ambulatory and integrated care services
• Pathology specimen collection
• New day rehabilitation unit
• Increased sub-acute and rehabilitation inpatient beds
• Sub-acute aged care unit
• Behavioural management unit
• Acquired brain injury unit
• Palliative care
• Surgical services with refurbished operating theatres
• Enhanced diagnostic imaging (medical imaging and nuclear medicine)
• New Clinical Skills Centre

In addition to the new Ambulatory Care Building, a new public forecourt and green spaces will provide a welcoming environment that supports patient well-being.

The Stage 3 Redevelopment will complement the previously completed Emergency Department, eight-level Acute Services Building and upgraded Birthing Suite and Operating Theatre redevelopment.

This will improve accessibility for patients and their carers, particularly for those less mobile or who have chronic health conditions.
