Resourceful Australian Indian Network receives $40,000 from the NSW Government

The Resourceful Australian Indian Network (RAIN) has received $40,000 from the NSW Government under the 2022 Community Building Partnership Grant program.

This funding will assist RAIN to out-fit their community kitchen with new cooking equipment, shelves, tables, wash basins, cold storage equipment, ducted range-hood and non-slip flooring.

Member for Oatley, Mark Coure was pleased to welcome this funding, highlighting the important of small community projects which enrich the lives of our local multicultural groups.

“After working with RAIN for many years, I know home important they are to our local Indian community, helping to keep them connected through a shared identity, culture and love of cooking.” Mr Coure said.

“This funding will enable RAIN to significantly upgrade their community kitchen allowing them to support even more senior residents and increasing their capacity to cook more delicious Indian meals.”

The Community Building Partnership program has funded more than 18,000 community projects since it commenced in 2009.

The grant program seeks to fund grassroots community project which have significant benefit to the local schools, community groups and organisations.
