Mark Coure commits $8 million to upgrade the Oatley-Como Walkway/Cycleway

A re-elected NSW Liberal Government will deliver $8 million to significantly upgrade the Oatley-Como Walkway and Cycleway, transforming this important transport link for the local community.

Member for Oatley, Mark Coure alongside Premier Dominic Perrottet and Member for Miranda Eleni Petinos made the announcement today on the Oatley-Como Bridge.

“The Oatley-Como Walkway/Cycleway is an iconic part of our local area and after many years it is fantastic to see this commitment finally happen.” Mr Coure said.

“This $8 million announcement here today will totally transform the pathway, by widening the path itself, installing lighting at night as well as the construction of seating and rest stops along the way.”

“As the dad of two young boys, my family and I frequently use this pathway to enjoy the sun and outdoors, so I know how important these upgrades are for our local community.”

“I want to thank the community for getting behind my campaign to upgrade the Oatley-Como Walkway/Cycleway, your support has helped get this announcement over-the-line.”

“The NSW Liberal Government is committed to promoting active transport links across the state and this $8 million commitment recognises the importance of the Oatley-Como Walkway/Cycleway to our local community.”

If re-elected, the NSW Government will deliver this project in partnership with the Georges River Council.

Only the Liberals have a long-term economic plan to keep NSW and our local community moving forward.
