Mark Coure appointed to Shadow Ministry

NSW Liberal Leader Mark Speakman and NSW Nationals Leader Dugald Saunders today announced the full shadow ministry, a team ready to fight for NSW, support families and businesses and hold the Labor government to account.

Member for Oatley, Mark Coure was appointed as Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism, Shadow Minister for Jobs, Industry, Innovation, Science, and Technology and Shadow Minister for South-Western Sydney.

“I am honoured and grateful to be appointed to the Shadow Ministry today. NSW needs an experienced and strong Coalition team which focuses on what the people of NSW need.” Mr Coure said.

“Together with the community, I’m proud of the achievements during my time as the Minister for Multiculturalism in the previous government, and I look forward to continuing in this portfolio in the Shadow Cabinet.”

“As the former Minister for Multiculturalism, I know how important it is to invest in the success of our vibrant and diverse multicultural communities, which over the last 12 months included.”

  • Record spending across multicultural groups in NSW.
  • Supporting projects to combat hate, racism and divisive attitudes, like the prohibition on display of Nazi symbols.
  • Providing greater funding to support asylum seekers, especially from Ukraine and Afghanistan.
  • Improved COVID-19 support for vulnerable multicultural communities.
  • Creating a new NSW interpreter scholarship program to assist government and multilingual groups communicate more effectively.
  • Launching Australia’s first multicultural mental health line.
  • Forming the new Religious Communities Advisory Council.
  • Launching the NSW Settlement Strategy representing the first time any level of Government in Australia has a dedicated plan focused on helping people not just on their arrival but throughout their entire settlement journey.

The shadow ministry will include experienced MPs who helped make NSW the best performing state in Australia under the former Coalition government, alongside new faces, and together they have the energy and determination to return the Coalition to government in 2027.
