Beverly Hills Commuter Carpark Update

Design and construct contracts have been awarded for the brand-new Beverly Hills Commuter Carpark.

Member for Oatley, Mark Coure said Stephen Edward Constructions has been awarded the contract to design and construct the multi-storey carpark that will deliver approximately 200 car spaces for Beverly Hills.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce approval of this project and to confirm the award of a contract to design and construct this much-needed commuter car park,” Mr Coure said.

“Beverly Hills and surrounding areas are booming, so we need to provide facilities for the increasing number of people using public transport which will relieve pressure on street parking.”

“This carpark will mean that less commuters are clogging up our local streets, freeing up more parking for customers, small business owners and local residents.”

A Review of Environmental Factors was publicly displayed from 4 to 27 February on the Transport for NSW website and also on the NSW Have your Say website with an invitation for the community to respond.

This feedback has been considered in the Determination Report with key themes including provision of public car parking, traffic congestion, the design of the project relative to the site, and impacts on adjoining dwellings and businesses.

This commuter car park will deliver a lift and stairs to each level of the commuter car park with vehicle access off Edgbaston Road, Park&Ride boom gates, rooftop solar panels and provision for future EV charging.

The structure will also feature a high-quality façade, CCTV, lighting, wayfinding and new accessible commuter spaces located close to the station on Tooronga Terrace.

The site is conveniently located approximately 70 metres from Beverly Hills station.

The detailed design for the commuter car park will be finalised over the coming months, followed by construction which is expected to take approximately 18 months.

Transport for NSW is committed to finding a solution that makes the commuter car park available for use by both commuters and non-commuters to support the local community.
