$5 Million Upgrades at Beverly Hills Girls High School

A $5 million upgrade of Beverly Hills Girls High School’s entrance, administration and outdoor spaces was today officially opened by the Member for Oatley Mark Coure on behalf of the Minister for Education.

Mr Coure said the upgrade is part of the NSW Government’s $148 million Secondary Schools Renewal Program to improve the physical condition of 58 government high schools and how they present to their local community.

The $5 million upgrade at Beverly Hills Girls High School includes:

o a major refurbishment of the school administration area;

o creation of new outdoor learning and recreational spaces;

o a new formal front entrance; and

o extensive landscaping and paving.

“The project at Beverly Hills Girls High School was one of the first to be undertaken as part of the Renewal Program and was completed in October 2016,” said Mr Coure.

“The work has transformed Beverly Hills Girls High School’s appearance. As you walk past the school you can’t help but be impressed. I trust that students, parents and staff are as thrilled with the changes as I am.”

Mr Coure said the works at Beverly Hills Girls High not only greatly improved its appearance, but also the schools’ functionality, amenity and maintenance condition.

“The new outdoor learning space provides an informal and social environment for teachers and students to interact,” Mr Coure said.

The $148 million Secondary Schools Renewal Program will provide opportunities to create better engagement with parents, students and the community.
