Investigation Work Begins for King Georges Road Upgrade

Mark Coure, Member for Oatley, has announced that Transport for NSW will start investigation works on King Georges Road between Bevery Hills and South Hurstville from next week.

This work will help to inform future plans for the busy corridor and will include detailed surveying and utility investigations.

Mr Coure said Transport for NSW is carrying out the work to progress detailed designs on the widening of King Georges Road between Stoney Creek Road, Beverly Hills and Forest Road, Hurstville.

“King Georges Road is one of the busiest roads in the local area. It is a gateway road that connects the south-east suburbs of Sydney with the inner-west and CBD,” Mr Coure said.

“The investigation works, that will begin next week, involve assessing ground conditions, identifying underground utilities, land surveying and inspecting the existing drainage network.”

“This work will help to inform options for improving King Georges Road into the future, including any potential upgrades between Forest Road and Connells Point Road.”

Day work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and night work between 8pm and 5am Sunday to Friday, from Thursday 21 May to Monday 31 August, weather permitting.

Transport for NSW will update the community when the investigations are complete.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place at times for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
