Coure Calls for Community Input on Police

The O'Farrell Government recently launched the comprehensive audit of police resources, delivery on an important election commitment.

Former Assistant Commissioner Peter Parsons APM is leading the audit which will determine where police are, where they need to be and how best to use them to protect and serve our community.

"This is an important part in making sure police resources are appropriately allocated and supported so they can focus on having a strong presence in the community and not caught up with endless administrative tasks", Mark Coure Member for Oatley said today.

As the local Member I'm preparing a submission to the review to ensure our community is well resourced and our policemen and women are looked after.

"During the election I emphasised the need for more police at Riverwood Police Station and that's something I will be taking up with the audit.

"I'm proud of our commitments on law and order and we've already taken steps to support our local police through strengthened 'move on' powers and mandatory life sentences for individuals convicted of murdering police.

"I'd invite all members of the community to contribute their thoughts or concerns to my submission so the audit has a firm understanding of the needs of our community.

"If you're interested in contributing please contact me in writingbefore Thursday 28th July so I can include your contribution," Mr Coure concluded.
