St Declan's Athletics Success

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I rise today to recognise the outstanding achievements of students from St Declan's Catholic Primary School at the Sydney Catholic Schools Athletics Championships. In the field events, Alexander Kotevski won the shot put and placed fourth in the discus, while Addison Baker finished second in the discus and sixth in the shot put. Celina Selwainse also set a new high-jump record after clearing an impressive 1.32 metres. On the track, Chloe Lin won gold in the 200 metres and silver in the 100 metres, while Alexandra Aforo-Addo won the 100 metres in her age group. Addison also achieved a personal best to finish third in the 800 metres, with Victoria Kokalevska placing fourth. The junior girls relay team of Addison Baker, Alexandra Aforo-Addo, Olivia O'Brien and Celina Selwainse delivered another excellent result, finishing second. Seven students have now qualified for the MacKillop Championships, where they will contest eleven individual events and the relay. I congratulate Chloe, Addison, Alexander, Celina, Alexandra, Victoria and Olivia and wish them every success at the MacKillop Championships.
