Mid-Autumn Festival

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (17:09:45):

I wish everyone celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival this Friday 25 February a wonderful evening with family and friends. Across the Oatley electorate, the St George area, elsewhere in New South Wales and across the world, families will gather, share mooncakes and enjoy the sight of lanterns beneath the full moon. Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration of reunion. For many families it is a chance to pass on stories and traditions from one generation to the next, particularly for children growing up here, who take pride in both their heritage and their home of Australia. I thank the Chinese Australian Services Society, Georges River Council and the volunteers and families who bring those celebrations to life and invite their neighbours to share in them. To everyone celebrating, I hope they enjoy good company, good health and, of course, a mooncake or two. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
