Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)
—Speaker, I rise today to congratulate the students and staff of Beverly Hills Girls High School on the launch of their student-led podcast, Talk to Somebody. The podcast provides a platform for students to share the ideas, values and experiences that make their diverse school community so special. Its first episode was hosted by Year 8 students Frances Paynter and Shabnum Hassan, with original music created and performed by Year 12 students Ayshia Bisasa and Petrelia Matamua. Featuring a rotating roster of student hosts and guests, the podcast explores important topics including equity, diversity, Aboriginal education, multiculturalism and opportunities for student achievement. Through Talk to Somebody, students are developing valuable skills in communication, interviewing, teamwork and audio production while ensuring young people feel heard and represented. I congratulate Frances, Shabnum, Ayshia, Petrelia and every student involved, as well as Deputy Principal Geremy Crithary and the dedicated staff supporting this initiative. I look forward to hearing many more episodes in the future.
