Lions Club of Lugarno

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I rise today to extend my gratitude to the Lions Club of Lugarno for their ongoing commitment to our local community. Recently, the Lions Club of Lugarno generously donated $1,000 to St George Community Transport. This contribution will be used to replace the batteries on buses that provide localised transport to our community. These buses play an essential role in transporting elderly people, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable members of our community to important services and appointments. It is crucial that these buses remain in a safe, roadworthy condition, particularly in case of medical emergencies. Thanks to this funding, they will be able to operate safely for many years to come. I would like to thank Mike Warner, President of the Lions Club of Lugarno and Natasha Stokes, CEO of St George Community Transport for their generosity and dedication to the community. As the Lions Club continues their invaluable work, they are seeking new members to help expand their impact. I encourage anyone who wants to make a meaningful contribution to their community to consider joining the Club.
