St George Basketball - Presentation and Fundraiser Day

—Speaker, I recently had the opportunity to attend St George Basketball's presentation and fundraiser day at Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre. It was fantastic to meet the next generation of sporting stars in our local area. I had the opportunity of presenting a number of trophies, certificates and singlets to representative players, ranging all the way from under 12 boys and girls to seniors. Grassroots sport truly is one of the cornerstones of our community. Not only does it encourage kids to get out and participate in physical activity, but it is also a great way to make lifelong friendships. It was a privilege to catch up with Ray Barbi, the club's president, as well as their fantastic executive team. Of course, grassroots sport is nothing without its team of dedicated volunteers and I sincerely appreciate all of your work in this space. I look forward to working closely alongside the St George Basketball team well into the future. They are an organisation of exceptional calibre and I am proud of the work that they do.
