Share the Dignity Drive

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I rise today to acknowledge the meaningful work of Share the Dignity, a national charity working to end period poverty in Australia. Every year my office is a collection point for our community to donate toiletry items in support of the 'It's in the Bag' charity drive. This year we have collected close to 150 handbags full of donations from generous locals. I am honoured to have participated in this charity drive for many years now, and it always fantastic to see my community get around the drive with so many wonderful donations. This year in particular, I would like to recognise Linda Pritchard and the ladies from Knit2gether at Oatley, a local community group who have been incredibly generous over the years. Last year, they made an effort to support Share the Dignity by donating just under 100 handbags filled with essential items. I would like to thank the Share the Dignity team for their incredible support. I also pass on my thanks to everyone in the community that has supported this wonderful cause! I look forward to taking part in this initiative again in March this year.
