Celebrating McHappy Day at McDonald's South Hurstville
Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)
—Speaker, I recently celebrated McHappy Day, at my local McDonald's in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities. On the day, I was happy to learn more about the charitable works of Ronald McDonald House and join in the McHappy Day festivities. It was wonderful to meet some of the crew working on the day and get in on some of the action. I also had the opportunity to meet with the manager and Hurstville Grove resident, Mr Alex Stamiris, who owns and operates several local restaurants in and around Hurstville. It is local businessmen like Alex who help keep our community connected and drive our local economy. McDonald's South Hurstville has been operating since 1979 and has employed hundreds of local community members during this time. Its celebration of McHappy Day fostered a great sense of community and generosity – all of which went towards a meaningful cause. I would like to thank Alex and the crew at South Hurstville Maccas for their warm reception and fantastic celebration of McHappy Day. Their support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities is an invaluable contribution on behalf of our community.
