Bridget Clark
Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (18:54:04):
I recognise a fantastic local talent who recently made her Olympic debut, representing Australia in the women's rugby sevens team. Bridget Clark is an Oatley resident who grew up playing in competitive Oztag and touch football teams in the St George area and the Sutherland Shire. At just 21 years of age, she has transitioned from a local player to an Olympic contender. As a valued player at the Burraneer Women's Rugby Club, Bridget was selected by coach Tim Walsh to replace injured players on the national rugby sevens squad. From there, she delivered a stellar performance in her international debut against Hong Kong, which led to her selection for the Olympic team. It was incredible to witness Bridget's dream of representing Australia come true on the world stage at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Her Olympic selection was a testament to her potential, growth and unwavering dedication. Seeing young local talent achieving their dreams and representing Australia is very inspiring. Bridget's journey exemplifies her perseverance.
