The Retirement of St George Pac's Senior Constable Sonia Krcalovic

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I would like to recognise a local hero who has recently retired after 15 years of service with the St George Police Area Command. Sonia became a Crime Prevention Officer in 2018, where she was highly involved in annual initiatives like the No Domestic Violence Walks, Migrant Information Day, Seniors Week and Harmony Day. Originally a community nurse, Sonia decided that she wanted to help serve in a different way before entering the police force. While working with the St George PAC, she was a massive advocate for safety and held quarterly meetings with local Councils to discuss crime prevention and community relations. Her contributions to the local culturally and linguistically diverse [CALD] community has been at the forefront of her service – receiving many well-deserved community finalists' awards that recognised her hard work. Having known and worked alongside Sonia for some time, I must say that her commitment to the community is commendable. I would like to thank Sonia for her service and wish her all the best in this next chapter of her life.
