Tribute to Brian Smith

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley) (15:58:28):

I take a moment to remember Brian Smith, who recently passed away at the age of 91. Brian was a vital member of my community who made remarkable contributions in many areas, including the St George Men's Shed and the local pharmacy guild. Brian moved his growing family to Oatley in 1965 where he worked in the pharmacy industry for over 49 years. During his time over many years at the Men's Shed, and as an active member of the community, Brian enjoyed socialising, repairing items and organising Bunnings fundraiser barbecues. The Men's Shed has worked on several projects for the local community. The work its members do is second to none. Brian made considerable contributions to many of the projects in his time as treasurer since 2013, where he remained in that position until his recent passing in June this year. I shared many laughs and great memories with Brian and remember his generous spirit. I pass on my condolences to his wife, Marcia, family and grandchildren. Brian's significant contributions to the community are greatly appreciated and have left a legacy for the St George Men's Shed.
