Georges River Life Care
Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)
—Speaker, I have worked alongside Georges River Life Care for some time and am always thrilled to hear about the great work they do to support our local community. The Peakhurst-based food rescue charity has recently received a $15,000 grant from Jemena's Community Grants program. This funding will help the charity provide additional food hampers and support for people facing food insecurity in the St George area, particularly as cost-of-living pressures rise. This outreach program sees Georges River Life Care partner with local supermarkets to save food and distribute it to families in need. As a community it is so important that during these cost-of-living challenges we support community organisations like Georges River Life Care who do fantastic work to ensure no one in our community is left behind. I would like to congratulate Karen Power and the entire Georges River Life Care on receiving this funding to continue this successful and important program and thank all staff and volunteers for their commitment and service to our community.
