Sydney N Scale Model Railway Club
Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)
—Speaker, there has evidently been a lot of recent buzz around trains since the opening of Sydney's new metro line. But, right in my community, the Sydney N Scale Model Railway Club celebrates the traditional sounds of historic trains. The club is dedicated to promoting N scale modelling and welcomes anyone interested in this hobby, regardless of prototype or era. This social club is now based in Rockdale and fosters an inter-generational exchange of skills, ideas, and fun among its diverse mix of members. They also offer clinics for specific skills, and members can gain practical experience in building layouts, including benchwork, track laying, wiring, and scenery. The club's long history dates back to its first meeting in 1971 and has since been working on different building layouts and exhibitions. Their newest project is 'The Cascade Union' which is being built under a seven-year plan, and when completed will operate across three levels, with each level representing a different portion of North America. I look forward to seeing the wonderful projects that will emerge from the N Scale Railway Club and congratulate them on their community-minded spirit.
