Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, today I rise to thank and congratulate a wonderful member of my local community, Lyndon Mitchell, who recently received a Senior Volunteer award at my 2021 St George Community Awards. Moving to IRT Peakhurst in 2017, Lyndon and his wife Odette quickly became advocates for residents within the facility. Lyndon's decision to bring back the Peakhurst Resident's committee was certainly a welcome one, as it ensured that the lives of residents were improved each and every day. Lyndon has personally secured funding and a number of grants for the village and his excellent communication has meant that things are done in a timely manner. Moreover, Lyndon is a highly respected member of the Peakhurst Retirement Village and is well-regarded amongst staff and residents alike. Aged-care facilities thrive off the ongoing effort of tireless and dedicated individuals and Lyndon is one such gentleman. He is a worthy and deserving candidate of the award and I thank him for all he does for IRT Peakhurst Retirement Village. I would again like to congratulate Lyndon for receiving this award, and wish him all the best in their future endeavours.
