Dandelion Support Network

Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, I rise today to congratulate the Dandelion Support Network for their outstanding contributions to our local community, having been awarded with a 2021 St George Community Group Award. Founded in 2012, Dandelion Support Network endeavours to ensure that all babies and children have access to nursery items essential for their safety, well-being and development. The Dandelion Support Network specifically focuses on empowering vulnerable families to focus on the health of their children. This allows parents to have their financial stress reduced, experience improvements in their mental health, and generally feel supported by their community. Speaker, their dedication to the community during the recent lockdown was unparalleled, as they remained open to support vulnerable families. Whilst the team at Dandelion Support Network faced incredible challenges during this period, they confronted them head on with optimism and vigour. I would like to thank Cathy Nisbet for receiving the award, and also chair member of the board, Kathryn Brennan. The work you all do is absolutely phenomenal. I would like to congratulate Dandelion Support Network again for receiving this award. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
