Cerebral Palsy Alliance Penshurst

Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, I am pleased to congratulate the Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Penshurst on receiving an important funding investment from the NSW Government. The Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Penshurst has received $22,000 for an equipment upgrade that has helped them to purchase additional equipment. In particular, this funding has allowed the organisation to purchase a unique piece of equipment known as a 'magic carpet', a sensory, visual and movement aid for individuals with cerebral palsy. Through encouraging movement and sensory understanding via fun and engaging means, clients love visiting the centre and it is a fantastic way to promote their physical wellbeing. It was an honour to head over to the centre to see how this equipment works alongside Catherine Bell and Shannon Taylor. Clients were absolutely loving the magic carpet and it was inspiring to see how their cognitive and physical capabilities had improved over time. A huge thanks to Catherine, Shannon and the entire team at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Penshurst for their incredible work in our local community.

The House adjourned pursuant to standing and sessional orders at 17:42 until Tuesday 7 June 2022 at 12:00.
