Order of Ahepa Annual Convention Lunch

Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, I rise today to acknowledge an important multicultural group in my local area, the Order of Australasian Hellenic Educational Progressive Association. The Order of the AHEPA is part of the world's largest Hellenic organisation and they do some fantastic work here in New South Wales. The AHEPA family promotes Hellenism, education, philanthropy, civic responsibility and excellence throughout all of their teachings and work in the community. Speaker, I late last year had the pleasure of attending their annual convention where I learnt more about the important grassroots work that they have been doing to support Hellenic communities throughout the pandemic. I also had the honour of presenting Kiki Konstantinopoulou, Ioanna Diamadis, Irene Anestis and the AHEPA Hunters, Fishers and Shooters Club with a 2021 St George Community Award. These awards recognised their outstanding contributions to the local area from individual excellence to sporting achievement. I want to thank the Order of AHEPA for having me and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. I would also like to thank their hardworking Secretary Dr Panayiotis Diamadis for his role in organising the convention.
