St George District Cricket Club

Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, I rise today to acknowledge St George District Cricket for their fantastic work in promoting and providing a great environment for cricket players in my local area. The St George District Cricket Club was founded in 1911 with famous Australian left-hander Warren Bardsley playing at Hurstville Oval on the club's official opening day. Speaker, since 1921 the St George District Cricket Club has been producing some of the best First Grade players in our state. In the upcoming season they have a great squad including, Moises Henriques, Josh Hazelwood, Trent Copeland and Kurtis Patterson who have all represented Australia. Over the years I have been proud to support the club and the work they do to promote cricket in our local area and I encourage everyone who has the time to go down to Hurstville Oval and watch a great game of cricket. Speaker, I would also like to thank club President Kevin Green, George Philips the Membership Manager and the entire team at the St George District Cricket Club for running a fantastic local organisation.
