St George Community Housing
Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)
——Speaker, I rise to acknowledge the continued commitment of St George Community Housing in protecting the wellbeing of our most vulnerable local residents across the region. For more than 35 years, St George Community Housing has provided safe and affordable homes throughout all parts of our region. They currently provide a place to call home for around 11,000 people across their portfolio of more than 6500 properties. Social and affordable housing plays an important role in safeguarding the wellbeing of individuals and their families and I want to particularly thank the organisation for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2019, they have provided COVID‑19 hardship relief to more than 200 clients, housed 10 rough sleepers through our Government's Together Home program and provided almost $100 million in rental subsidies to tenants. Our entire community is grateful for the ongoing commitment of St George Housing to providing care and assistance to those who need it most. I wish their Chief Executive Officer, Scott Langford and his entire team all the best for many more years of outstanding service.
