Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, I rise to recognise President, Mark Croucher and the entire St George Brass Band team for their ongoing commitment to nurturing up and coming talent within our local music community. The St George Brass Band is based in both Mortdale and Bexley, with rehearsals taking place every Wednesday evening at the Bexley School of Arts. It was an honour to drop into a rehearsal night to listen to the outstanding music being played by individuals from all age groups. The organisation proudly caters for individuals of all skill levels across all different types of brass instruments. This is what makes the St George Brass Band such an inclusive and successful team. The St George Brass Band is now home to over 40 members with many performing in elite competitions and at a variety of community events. I am pleased to see that enrolment numbers are increasing with many more young people now choosing to become involved in playing brass instruments. I look forward to seeing many more success stories from the St George Brass Band in the future.
